Random Acts of Poetry: Petals

Petals

Gilded magnolias
nod on
the breath of
the fragrant
breeze
that tugs
confetti petals
from pop-corn
branches
and tosses them
white-pink-violet
against periwinkle blue
they twirl
and swirl
and fall
catch
and wink
in the light
like wedding party
flowers
caught
in the hands
of laughing
children

Beautiful poem, Erica. I am also moved by Matthew’s story. Life is so hard sometimes.

I have posted my final post on our book club series. I tried to go over to High Calling but the site must be down. I’ll visit later to read your post!

It’s been fun, though I must admit a struggled a little. Leaving with some good lessons, though.

    blessings!

Beautiful picture of words and photo…makes me want to reach out and touch the soft petals as they fall.

    nice!I like these words:

    “they twirl
    and swirl
    and fall”

because of the motion they convey
